Russian President Vladimir Putin signed the federal law on the organization and hosting of the XXII Olympic Winter Games and the XI Paralympic Winter Games in 2014 in Sochi, the development of Sochi as Mountain Climatic Resort and amendments to some legislative acts of the Russian Federation, the presidential press service reported on Monday.

The law was approved by the State Duma on November 16, 2007, and by the Federation Council on November 23, 2007.
