90,000 Olympic fans visit Sochi World
In less than two weeks, Sochi2014.ru World Russky Dom has welcomed approximately 90,000 people, making it one of the top attractions in Vancouver during the Winter Games.
Each day, approximately 7,000 people have visited Sochi World and witnessed its daytime program. Sochi World guests have often brought their families and spent an entire day visiting the many pavilions, playing hockey and watching sports broadcasts in real time.
Welcoming Russian Olympic medalists at Sochi World has already become a tradition. Despite their post-competition fatigue, Olympic medalists have been coming straight to Sochi World after their competitions, in order to share their joy with the numerous fans and journalists.
Sochi 2014 President and CEO Dmitry Chernyshenko said:
“Without a doubt, we were expecting there to be a high level of interest in Sochi World in Vancouver. After all, it is located in an iconic Vancouver landmark - the legendary Museum of Science dome. But this number of visitors has surpassed our wildest expectations and suggests that people are interested in our country and its culture. Additionally, this also demonstrates that the world is already showing interest in Sochi 2014. We are setting the bar high as Sochi 2014 is opening the door to the new, modern Russia, where innovation meets traditions that date back many centuries.”
