On 28 July BOSCO Sport, the General Partner of the Games in Sochi and official outfitter of the Russian Olympic team, invited the national youth team to a fitting for the 1^st Summer Youth Olympic Games in Singapore. The Youth Games are Games for young athletes aged from 14 to 18. In the 2010 Games, taking place from 14 to 26 August, 3,600 young athletes will take part in 30 sports, which include 201 events. Russia’s sporting delegation will consist of 96 athletes.

Millions of spectators will judge the country by the athletes’ clothing. It is for this reason that the uniform must be not only functional but also reflect the team’s national character.

The official Olympic outfit of the youth team is a collection of sports and everyday clothing in the traditional red-white colour range. The best styles of the BOSCO Sport summer collection have gone into the outfit.

The rules in operation at the Youth Games are more flexible, and athletes can appear in comfortable everyday clothes both at the opening and closing ceremonies of the Games and at the official ceremonial receptions.

The uniform outfit, which each member of the team will receive, consists of 26 items: two types of tracksuit, T-shirts, polo shirt, shorts, swimsuits, and baseball caps. The outfit has all the required accessories and sundries – training shoes, sandals, shower slippers, socks, bandanas, wristband, swimming goggles, towel and waist pack. All of this can be packed into a convenient bag with wheels, and the most valuable things into a rucksack, not forgetting pins and, of course, a favourite cuddly mascot – (the typical Russian Cheburashka).
