Senior Official: China to Support Sochi in Hosting Winter Olympics (Xinhua)
The Chinese government will firmly support Russia's Sochi in its preparation work for the Winter Olympic Games in 2014 and encourage Chinese enterprises to take part in the infrastructural construction, said a senior official here on Wednesday.
Chinese State Councilor Liu Yandong expressed congratulations for the Black Sea resort's successful bidding for the Olympics and appreciated Russia's support to China during the Beijing Olympics in August.
She also hailed the booming China-Russia relations, saying the cooperation between the two countries' regions has great potential.
Sochi is the second leg of Liu's visit to Russia after her stay in Moscow.
