The Licensing Program, developed by the Sochi 2014 Organizing Committee and the International Olympic Committee, is primarily focused on the production of licensed products of the highest quality. Under this Program, interested companies will acquire the rights to manufacture products with the Sochi 2014 Winter Games symbols. The Licensing Program officially launched in late October 2009.

The launch of the Program in Moscow, Sochi, and across Russia saw the creation of Olympic sections in stores as well as specialized shops that offer licensed Olympic products for sale.

High quality at a reasonable price are the criteria which must be met by the products of official licensee and sublicensee manufacturers for the Sochi 2014 Organizing Committee.

Interested companies can obtain trademark rights and therefore royalties on a commercial basis for a licensing fee. It is mandatory to register contracts agreed with licensees in Rospatent. The minimum duration of a licensing contract is 1 year.

The space for licensees in each category is limited. Licensing partner selection is therefore based on a tender and all companies that are interested in obtaining rights to use Olympic symbols are eligible to participate in the bidding process.

Rules of procedure for the selection of licensees

If a company is interested in a category of goods that is already closed and the licensee has been selected, their request can still be considered for sub-licensee selection in the same category.

Procedural rules for sub-licensee selection

Tenders for each goods category are conducted in-line with the launch phase plan.

Thanks to the joint efforts of the Sochi 2014 Organizing Committee and the licensee companies, all participants, guests and fans that could not attend the Games in Sochi will have the opportunity to purchase licensed commemorative products of this event.
