Mikhail Lesin
Adviser to the President of Russia

Mikhail Lesin was born in 1958, in Moscow. He graduated from the Moscow Institute of Engineering and Construction in 1984. From 1982 to 1987 he occupied various engineering specialist positions within the network of the USSR Ministry of Industry and Construction in Moscow and Ulaan-Baator. From 1988 to 1996 he occupied management positions in television. From 1996-97 Mr. Lesin was head of the Public Relations Department under the President of Russia. From 1997-99 he served as the first deputy chairman of the All-Russian Television and Radio Broadcasting Company. From 1999-2004 he was the Minister of the Press, Radio and Televisual Casting and Mass Communication Media of Russia. Since April 2004, he has served as a Counsellor of the Russian Federation President.
