Vice-President for Olympic Venues and Infrastructure
Sergey Sukhanov graduated in 1985 from Moscow’s Plekhanov Institute of National Economy. He started his career in the city of Dubna (part of the Moscow region) where he was a procurement inspector with the United Institute of Nuclear Studies.
Mr Sukhanov moved to Sochi in 1986, and in 2001 was appointed deputy head of administration for the city’s Hosta district. In 2004, he was appointed deputy head of the city of Sochi for economics, forecast, entrepreneurial activity, agricultural industry, the consumer market and investment services. In 2006 Mr. Sukhanov became Sochi city’s head deputy for Olympic preparation, and the same year was also appointed first deputy general director of the Unified Directorate of the Federal Target Program for Developing the City of Sochi as a Mountain Climate Resort, 2006-2014’ (a Federal State Entity).
Sergey Sukhanov was born
in 1962 in the city of Uralsk in Kazakhstan.
He is married and has a daughter.
